Rebecca & James

When you get an inquiry, some emails just hit you for some reason or another and you really do pray they choose you as their photographer and Rebecca was one of those brides.  There was some happy dances happening around my office space when the email came in asking me to be their photographer!  Over the coarse of a year, I could tell that photos were at the top of the list of importance for James and Rebecca's wedding day.  They put alot of thought into choosing the perfect venue, Sanctuary Gardens, which offers a magnificent view of the Okanagan.  So when fires broke out in Kelowna and smoke filled our valley ... **full disclosure coming**...  and Rebecca and James' wedding was looking like it would land on the smokiest day of the summer, I was full on panicking!  I remained cool and collected and reassured Rebecca and James that we would make beautiful photos happen no matter what the day threw at us.  However, on my end, a glass of wine or two may have been consumed to calm my nerves as the smoke kept getting thicker and thicker that week.  As the morning of the wedding day came, I gave myself a pep talk, grabbed my gear and went into the day trying to focus on just capturing the moments no matter what the weather had in store for us because in the end, your wedding day really is about the moments and the memories.  And am I ever glad that I kept a positive attitude because this was probably one of my favorite days of the 2017 season.  None of these images would have never had the seem feel and vibe if we hadn't had one of the smokiest days of the year!  I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites for a blog which tells you how amazing of a day it was.

Sidenote: Apparently, I should learn to tie a bowtie because no one knew how that day as you will see!!!
